From our homebase Maasbracht

We operate worldwide on five continents from our homebase in Maasbracht, the Netherlands, where our production facility is located. Our main markets are: Oil&Gas, Chemical Process industry, Power Generation, Pulp&Paper and Food.

Our team of 55 professionals have extensive knowledge and expertise in forming carbon steels, stainless steels and other special materials. Our craftsmanship is the main reason why customers and engineering firms contact Antonius at an early stage.

Company history

• In 1938 the company “machinefabriek Sint Antonius” was founded by Mr. S. Houben.
  From the beginning the company was located near to the harbour of Maasbracht (The Netherlands). The initial focus was on sheet metal and construction work.
• In 1947 Sint Antonius received an order to manufacture a large number of watertanks. From that moment on the company gradually specialised in manufacturing vessel heads. The construction of good quality tanks was a real challenge. In the following years manufacturing vessel heads became the main focus of the company.
• In 1994 the name of the company was changed in Antonius Vessel Heads B.V. because a major market for the company was the Middle East region. Antonius needed a more international name.
• In 1997 a big press for dished heads was installed. From that moment on Antonius became more and more specialised in making very large diameter dished heads. Due to the direct access to the water, the possibility of transporting very large sizes in one piece, is a competitive advantage.
• In 2002 Antonius was acquired by a private investor. Since the new millennium Antonius focusses more and more on special products and less on bulk production.
• In 2018 a management buy out took place and Richard Hamersma and Rob Derix took over the majority of the shares.
  With modern leadership and focus on adding value, by offering engineering partnership to their customers, Antonius is ready for the future.
